Gunankur ("we", "our", "us") provides a children's learning app for parents and kids. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and your choices about it.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the app and keep your child's progress safe and personal:
- Parent account information: name, email address and password (encrypted).
- Child profile information: child's first name (or nickname), age range and avatar choice — set by the parent.
- Activity data: activities completed, time spent in the app, streaks, coins earned and rewards unlocked.
- Device information: device model, OS version, app version and crash diagnostics.
We do not collect or store: precise location, contacts, microphone or camera data unless explicitly used for a feature you opt into.
2. Child Safety
Gunankur is built first and foremost as a safe space for children. We follow industry best practices aligned with COPPA (USA), the GDPR-K provisions (EU) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act:
- All child accounts are created and managed by a verified parent or guardian.
- We never serve third-party advertising inside the app.
- Children cannot share personal information or chat with strangers.
- All content is curated, age-appropriate and reviewed before publishing.
3. How We Use Information
We use the data we collect strictly to:
- Operate and improve the app and personalize your child's learning experience.
- Track progress, streaks and rewards on behalf of the parent.
- Send important account or safety notifications to the parent.
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or technical issues.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
4. Third-Party Services
To run a reliable, secure service we use a small number of trusted vendors, including cloud hosting, push-notification delivery and crash diagnostics. These vendors handle data only on our instructions and are contractually bound to protect it.
5. Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses minimal, anonymized analytics to understand which pages are useful to parents. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear cookies any time from your browser settings.
6. Account & Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), least-privilege access controls and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this responsibility seriously.
Parents can request a copy of their data, correct it, or delete their account at any time via the account deletion page.
